Description
"Why The Stars Do Shine" is a compilation of tracks created between Spring 2020 through Summer 2021, "Folding Space" being the earliest of these creations. All tracks were created in my (always evolving) home studio in London, Ontario, Canada using Logic Pro and physical, analog synthesizers - mainly Moog, some vintage dating back to the early 80s. My studio has evolved significantly during this period of time mainly due to the global pandemic, prompting a new creative focus and otherwise idle time during the lengthly pandemic 'lock downs'. I added many additional hardware synths to my setup during this time including a Sequential Prophet~6 that I have come to greatly appreciate given it's buttery, smooth timbre most notably on the "Lost at Sea" and "The Prophet" tracks.

Many inspirational sources are waved into these tracks including John Carpenter - the movie "The Fog", my love of science fiction and horror (books and movies). John, in particular, has had a large influence on my creative mind, even when I didn't realize it.

The Album title "Why The Stars Do Shine" is a nod to Isaac Asimov who's writings have been an endless source of inspiration and has sparked my imagination throughout my life.

Many thanks (and all my love), for the encouragement, suggestions, and art work design assistance, to my wife Patricia. Patricia, you are an amazing person and I can’t imagine my life without you!
